HD Deve Gowda Offers Prayers at Kukke Sri Subrahmanya Temple, Endorses Modi Government

In a significant spiritual and political gesture, former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda visited the renowned Kukke Sri Subrahmanya Temple in Mangaluru on Monday, where he performed special rituals and offered prayers. According to temple sources, the Janata Dal (Secular) leader arrived at the sacred site late on Sunday to prepare for the Ashlesha Puja and tulabhara seva ceremonies conducted the following day.

Political Affirmations and Praise for Central Leadership

Speaking to reporters after his devotional activities, Gowda expressed strong support for the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He emphasized that the administration, in collaboration with several allied parties, is effectively running a people-friendly government that prioritizes public welfare. The former Prime Minister confirmed that the JD(S) party is firmly aligned with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and will contest the upcoming elections as a cohesive unit. He assured that this alliance remains stable and committed to shared goals.

Gowda highlighted Modi's growing stature on the global stage, acknowledging his recognition as an influential leader. Reflecting on his own party's tenure in the state, he noted that many people-centric schemes were successfully implemented during that period, underscoring a legacy of social development.

Call to Youth for Agricultural and Political Engagement

In a compelling address, Gowda urged young people to focus on developing agriculture in their hometowns as a viable means to earn higher income, rather than seeking employment in distant IT and BT sectors or abroad. He pointed out that governments are actively creating comprehensive plans to boost agriculture, offering numerous opportunities for youth to engage in this sector. Additionally, he encouraged them to participate in politics and contribute to social welfare, framing it as a pathway to meaningful societal impact.
