Hem Singh Bhadana's political journey began in student politics, eventually leading him to serve as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Thanagazi constituency in Alwar twice, both times on a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ticket. During his second term as MLA, he was appointed as a state minister in the Vasundhara Raje government and later elevated to the position of cabinet minister, reflecting his rising influence within the party.
In the 2023 assembly elections, Bhadana faced a narrow defeat, losing by a very small margin to Congress candidate Kanti Prasad.
