General Anil Chauhan has concluded his tenure as the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), describing it as a 'very satisfying' experience. He was succeeded by Lieutenant General Subramani, who assumed charge with immediate effect.

During his distinguished service, General Chauhan was honored with several prestigious awards, including the Param Vishisht Seva Medal, Uttam Yudh Seva Medal, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, Sena Medal, and Vishisht Seva Medal. These recognitions highlight his exceptional contributions to the Indian Army.
Handover Ceremony
The transition took place in a formal ceremony at the defence headquarters, attended by senior military officials and defence personnel. General Chauhan expressed gratitude for the support received during his tenure and extended best wishes to his successor.
Lieutenant General Subramani brings extensive experience to the role, having served in key operational and strategic positions. His appointment is expected to ensure continuity in India's defence policies and military modernization efforts.
