Tragic Dog Attack Claims Life of Young Girl in Lucknow Outskirts
A horrifying incident has shaken the community of Tarouna village on the outskirts of Lucknow, where an eight-year-old girl was allegedly mauled to death by a pack of stray dogs on Sunday evening. The victim, identified as Anshika, a Class 1 student, had stepped out of her house alone around 6 pm when the fatal attack is believed to have occurred.
Discovery of the Mutilated Body
According to villagers, a group of women who had gone towards the fields noticed a body lying on the ground. Frightened, they rushed back to alert others. Soon, locals gathered and reached the spot with sticks, only to find the blood-soaked body of the child lying in a severely mutilated condition nearly 500 metres away from her home.
Eyewitnesses reported that a pack of stray dogs was seen sitting at a short distance from the spot where the body was found. Villagers suspect these dogs, believed to be from a neighbouring village, were responsible for the brutal and fatal attack.
Evidence of Violent Mauling
The body bore deep bite marks, especially on the face, which was reportedly disfigured beyond recognition. Flesh wounds and claw marks were clearly visible, and paw prints were found on the body, all indicating a violent and sustained mauling. The sheer brutality of the incident left even police officers present at the spot reportedly shocked.
Family's Devastation and Police Response
Anshika was the youngest among three siblings. Her father, Dilip Kashyap, stated that she had left the house in the evening, and the family was informed of her tragic death shortly after. Her mother, Soni, fainted upon seeing the body, while other family members were left inconsolable by the sudden and horrific loss.
Family members were informed immediately, following which the body was taken back home. Police were also alerted and reached the scene shortly thereafter. Station House Officer of Rahimabad, Arun Kumar Singh, confirmed that a police team has visited the kin of the deceased girl to ascertain the exact sequence of events in this tragic incident.
Community and Safety Concerns
This incident has raised serious concerns about public safety and the management of stray animals in rural and semi-urban areas. The attack occurred under the Rahimabad police station limits, highlighting the need for increased vigilance and preventive measures to protect vulnerable residents, especially children.
