Haryana CM Thanks PM Modi for MSP Hike on Kharif Crops

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for raising the minimum support price (MSP) of all mandated kharif crops for the 2026-27 marketing season, describing it as another farmer-friendly decision by the central government.

Saini stated that this move represents another step forward in the government's commitment to doubling farmers' income. According to officials from the Haryana government, the MSP for common paddy has been increased from Rs 2,369 per quintal to Rs 2,441, while A-grade paddy will now be procured at Rs 2,461 per quintal, up from Rs 2,389.

The MSP for moong dal has been raised from Rs 8,768 to Rs 8,780 per quintal. Similarly, bajra MSP has been increased from Rs 2,775 to Rs 2,900 per quintal, and ragi from Rs 4,886 to Rs 5,205 per quintal.

For maize, the MSP has been hiked from Rs 2,400 to Rs 2,410 per quintal, for tur/arhar from Rs 8,000 to Rs 8,450, for jowar hybrid from Rs 3,699 to Rs 4,023, and for jowar Maldandi from Rs 3,749 to Rs 4,073 per quintal. The MSP for urad has been increased from Rs 7,800 to Rs 8,200 per quintal.

Cabinet Meeting Scheduled

A meeting of the Haryana cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, is scheduled for May 18 at 10 am in the main hall of the Haryana Civil Secretariat.
