Jhansi: Six people, including two policemen, were injured after a speeding car went out of control and struck two constables and several others near Hanumanji Temple culvert in Moth town of Jhansi district on Wednesday evening. The driver fled from the spot, abandoning the vehicle, which the police have since seized.

Accident Details

According to reports, the accident occurred around 7 pm in a busy market area. The car first hit constables Abhishek Patel and Puneet Sahu of Samthar police station, then plowed into several pedestrians nearby. The impact left multiple people injured, with one victim in critical condition.

Police Response and Investigation

Station Officer of Moth police station, Atul Kumar Rajput, confirmed that the injured were taken to Community Health Centre (CHC) Moth. Due to the severity of injuries, one person was later referred to a hospital in Jhansi. Efforts are underway to locate and arrest the absconding driver, who fled on foot after the crash. The vehicle has been impounded for forensic examination.
