Karnal Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Anand Kumar Sharma on Saturday reviewed arrangements for the Assistant District Attorney (ADA) Group-B screening test, scheduled for July 5 and conducted by the Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC). A total of 11,904 candidates will appear at 39 examination centres across the district.
DC Directs Fair and Transparent Conduct
Chairing a meeting at the Mini Secretariat auditorium, Dr Sharma instructed all departments to ensure the examination is conducted in a fair and transparent manner. He directed that question papers be transported to centres under strict police supervision and that ambulances be available outside each exam centre.
“We have made all arrangements for conducting smooth and transparent examinations,” the DC stated, urging officials to work with utmost responsibility and avoid negligence.
Exam Timings and Nodal Officer
The screening test will run from 10 am to 12 noon. Municipal Corporation Joint Commissioner Daljit Singh has been appointed as the nodal officer for the exam.
To assist candidates and their families, arrangements have been made at various dharamshalas in the city for stay and convenience. Parents accompanying candidates can also rest at these facilities during the exam period.
Allowed Items and Security Measures
Candidates may carry only admit cards, a photo identity card, and a blue or black ballpoint pen into the exam hall. Sikh candidates are permitted to wear a turban, kara, and carry a kirpan but must report at least one hour early for security checks. Married Hindu women may wear mangalsutras.
The DC advised candidates not to bring unnecessary items, as arrangements for safekeeping belongings will be made at centres.
Control Room and Helpline Numbers
A control room has been set up at the Mini Secretariat for assistance and grievance redressal. Helpline numbers 0184-2267220 and 0184-2267271 will be operational from 6 am on Saturday. Candidates and parents can contact these numbers in case of difficulty.
The DC appealed to candidates to carefully read HPSC guidelines and arrive on time at their respective centres.
Centre Inspections and Section 163 Imposed
Dr Sharma visited several exam centres, including Shri Krishna Pranami Public School, DAV PG College, and DAV Senior Secondary School, to review arrangements. He inspected drinking water, electricity supply, toilets, and generator backup, finding them satisfactory.
He imposed Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, around all examination centres and the strong room at the District Treasury in the Mini Secretariat. The order prohibits assembly of five or more persons and carrying firearms or weapons within a 200-metre radius of the centres.
