Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on Union Home Minister Amit Shah, questioning why he has not visited the Ram Mandir since the consecration ceremony and accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of using Lord Ram and the temple for electoral gains.
Addressing a press conference, Kejriwal claimed that nearly two-and-a-half years had passed since the consecration (Pran Pratishtha) of the Ram Temple and alleged that Shah had not offered prayers at the temple even once during that period.
Kejriwal's Five Questions to Amit Shah
Kejriwal further alleged that while the Union home minister had referred to Lord Ram and the Ram Temple more than 42 times in speeches and interviews, he had primarily invoked the temple during election campaigns to seek votes.
“I want to ask Amit Shah Ji five questions. The first question: Why have you not visited the Ram Temple? The second question: Do you not feel like visiting Lord Ram? The third question: Do you not feel like going to the Ram Temple? The fourth question: Do you need the blessings of Lord Ram? And the fifth, and most important, question: Do you consider Lord Ram to be God?” he asked.
Allegations of Corruption and Divine Justice
Referring to the alleged controversy surrounding donations and offerings at the Ram Temple, Kejriwal said the reports had deeply hurt the sentiments of the Sanatan community across the country. He alleged that both the Central government and the Uttar Pradesh government were attempting to shield those responsible.
Kejriwal asserted that Lord Ram is not merely a stone idol but is “omnipresent and omnipotent”, adding that those involved in any wrongdoing would ultimately face divine justice. He also appealed to people to oppose those allegedly involved in corruption and claimed that a change in government was necessary to ensure accountability.
