A leopard that strayed into the washroom of a house in Solan district was successfully rescued by the Himachal Pradesh Forest Department on Friday. The big cat entered the unlocked washroom of villager Jeet Ram's house near Garkhal in Kasauli tehsil, apparently in search of prey.
Incident Details
Earlier on Friday, the leopard reportedly pounced on a dog near Ram's house. It then entered the washroom, the door of which was left unlocked, seeking prey. Unaware of the animal's presence, Ram's wife entered the washroom but immediately came out and raised an alarm. The leopard let out a squeal but did not attack her or attempt to leave the washroom.
Rescue Operation
Ram informed the Forest Department about the leopard. A team of department employees rushed to the spot and, following a lengthy operation, successfully rescued the animal. The leopard was later taken away by the forest officials.
No Injuries Reported
According to the Forest Department, no injuries were reported in the incident. The leopard remained calm throughout the rescue and did not show aggression toward the residents or the rescue team. The department has advised residents in the area to remain vigilant and keep doors locked to prevent such incidents.
