She secured 2,18,969 votes, which accounted for 98% of the total ballots cast. This victory set a new record for the highest margin in an assembly poll, surpassing the previous record of 2.14 lakh votes set by BJP's Sunil Kumar Sharma in Uttar Pradesh's Sahibabad in 2022. Sunetra Pawar contested as the candidate of the Nationalist Congress Party, led by her husband.
In Rahuri, BJP candidate Akshay Shivajirao Kardile won by a margin of 1,12,587 votes, further consolidating the party's position in the state.
Karnataka: Congress Holds Strong
In Karnataka, the Congress party emerged victorious in both bypolls. Umesh Meti won the Bagalkot seat by more than 22,000 votes, while Samarth Mallikarjun secured a narrow victory in Davanagere South with a margin of just 5,708 votes. The elections saw 14 Muslim candidates contesting, who collectively polled 21,510 votes out of the 80,000 votes cast.
Gujarat and Northeast: BJP Dominates
In Gujarat's Umreth constituency, BJP candidate Harshad Parmar won by a margin of over 30,000 votes, reinforcing the party's stronghold in the state.
In the northeastern states, BJP's Jahar Chakraborty won the Dharmanagar seat in Tripura, while Daochier I Imchen secured victory in Koridang, Nagaland. Both wins contributed to the NDA's overall tally in the region.
