Special Traffic Plan for NEET in Thiruvananthapuram
Thiruvananthapuram city police have implemented special traffic and parking arrangements for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) scheduled on Sunday. The measures, effective from 9:30 am, aim to ensure smooth movement of candidates and prevent traffic congestion near examination centres across the city.
Parking Regulations and Designated Areas
Police advised parents and guardians to drop candidates at their respective examination centres and park vehicles only in designated areas. Vehicles must not be parked along roads in a manner that obstructs traffic or causes inconvenience. Designated parking facilities include the Attukal parking ground, corporation parking areas, the multi-level parking facility at Kowdiar, and car parking lots at Thampanoor and Palayam.
Permitted Road Stretches for Parking
Parking will be permitted on selected road stretches subject to space availability and traffic flow. These include the left side of the road from Kuravankonam to Women's College, Vazhuthacaud to Nandavanam, Nandavanam to Museum, Sangeetha College Road, Spencer Junction to Palayam, Pulimoodu to Ayurveda College, Attakulangara-Killipalam Road, PMG-Law College Road, Assembly-Vikas Bhavan Road, AKG General Hospital Road, Paruthippara-Kesavadasapuram Road, Jagathy-Edapazhanji Road, and stretches along Model School and Panavila roads. Vehicles can also be parked on both sides of the Kesavadasapuram-Plamoodu road where it does not hinder traffic.
Penalties and Enforcement
Police have warned that vehicles parked illegally or causing obstruction will be removed with the help of recovery vehicles, and legal action will be taken against owners. City police have sought cooperation from the public and motorists to ensure smooth conduct of the examination and avoid traffic snarls.
