Silchar: One person died while a youth sustained critical injuries in two separate accidents reported from Cachar district on Eid ul-Zuha, Thursday. The incidents have left the local community in shock.
First Accident: Unidentified Man Found Near Railway Track
An unidentified man was discovered lying in a bloodied condition beside a railway track at Chandranathpur on Thursday morning. Local residents who spotted him reported that the injured man was crying for help. He was rushed to Sonapur Ramkamal Health Centre by locals but succumbed to his injuries during treatment. His identity remains unknown as of the filing of this report. The incident created panic in the area. Government Railway Police (GRP) from Badarpur and Barkhola Police later arrived at the hospital and launched an investigation into the matter.
Second Accident: Youth Critically Injured in Road Collision
In another incident, a 22-year-old youth suffered serious head injuries in a road accident at Kathal Road Point in Silchar early on Thursday morning. The injured individual has been identified as Sabir Hossain, also known as Kabuli, a resident of the Meherpur area. According to reports, Sabir was riding a motorcycle at high speed from the Silchar Medical College side when his bike rammed into a parked truck near a mosque at Kathal Road Point. The impact of the collision flung the biker off the vehicle, leaving him critically injured. Local residents promptly rushed him to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for medical attention. Traffic police arrived at the scene, seized the damaged motorcycle and the truck, and initiated an investigation. Sabir’s condition has been stated as critical.
These back-to-back accidents have raised concerns about safety in the region, with authorities urging caution among residents.
