Prateek Yadav, the younger son of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav, passed away on Wednesday at the age of 42 after a prolonged illness. He was battling a severe health condition for the past few months and was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Gurugram.
Family and Political Connections
Prateek was the younger brother of Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav. Unlike his father and brother, he stayed away from active politics and focused on business ventures and philanthropic activities. He was known for his low-key profile and was rarely seen in the political limelight.
Health Struggles
Sources close to the family revealed that Prateek had been unwell for some time and his health deteriorated rapidly in recent weeks. He was admitted to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram, where he breathed his last. The news of his demise has sent shockwaves through the Yadav family and the political fraternity in Uttar Pradesh.
Condolences Pour In
Several political leaders, including Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, expressed grief over Prateek Yadav's death. Samajwadi Party leaders and workers mourned the loss, remembering him as a humble and kind-hearted individual. Akhilesh Yadav, who was deeply attached to his younger brother, was seen inconsolable.
Last Rites
Prateek Yadav's last rites are scheduled to be performed on Thursday in Saifai, the ancestral village of the Yadav family in Etawah district. The family has requested privacy during this difficult time.
Prateek is survived by his wife, a son, and a daughter. His untimely demise has left a void in the family that can never be filled, said close family friends.
