Rahul Gandhi Urges Congress to Expose PM Modi's 'Failures' on Epstein Files, Trade Deal
Rahul Gandhi: Expose Modi's Failures on Epstein, Trade Deal

Rahul Gandhi Calls on Congress Cadres to Publicize PM Modi's Alleged Failures

In a significant political development, Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, on Monday directed party cadres and functionaries to aggressively take what he termed the "failures and mistakes" of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the doorsteps of the people. Addressing a high-level political affairs committee (PAC) meeting in Hyderabad, Gandhi framed this as a critical electoral strategy.

High-Level Meeting in Hyderabad

The PAC meeting witnessed the presence of Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, several state ministers, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud, and numerous senior party functionaries. It was in this forum that Rahul Gandhi laid out his critique of the Modi government, linking it to international developments.

Gandhi asserted that the failures and mistakes committed by PM Modi were being exposed in a sequential manner and must be systematically highlighted before the public to ensure accountability.

Allegations Centered on Epstein Files and US Trade Deal

Central to Gandhi's address were pointed allegations regarding the Epstein files and the India-US trade agreement. He claimed that Prime Minister Modi "surrendered" to former US President Donald Trump because the United States possessed the controversial Epstein files and, crucially, relevant proof in the Adani case among other sensitive matters.

"He claimed Modi was unable to question Trump and, under immense pressure, signed a trade deal that is fundamentally detrimental to India's long-term economic and strategic interests," a source present at the meeting summarized.

Further escalating his charges, Gandhi alleged that the Prime Minister had surrendered critical ‘data of India' to the US. He issued a cautionary note, stating that while artificial intelligence represents an important technological frontier, it becomes largely ineffective without sovereign control over national data, implying a compromise on this front.

Address to District Congress Presidents

Later, addressing newly appointed district Congress committee (DCC) presidents from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana at the valedictory session of their 10-day training camp, Rahul Gandhi delineated a clear ideological contrast between the Congress and the BJP.

He stated that the BJP practices a form of power-driven politics, whereas the Congress ideology is firmly rooted in the principles of non-violence, peace, and substantive equality. "Congress must function without any discrimination based on caste, religion, class, gender, or economic status," he emphasized.

Call for Humility and People-Centric Politics

Urging the gathered leaders to shed all arrogance and serve with genuine humility, Gandhi reminded them that the party's ultimate strength derives solely from the people. He drew an interesting parallel between the self-discipline required in the martial art of jiu-jitsu and the discipline needed in political life.

"Rahul Gandhi urged leaders to remain steadfastly committed to Congress ideology and to win power through the enduring trust and confidence of the people, not by adopting what he termed the BJP's ‘do anything' approach to securing power," an attendee noted.

He underscored that the party as an institution is always bigger than individual ego, calling on workers to strengthen the Congress by maintaining a constant presence among the masses.

Standing with Marginalized Sections

Gandhi issued a specific directive to DCC presidents and party workers across the states to stand firmly with Dalits, Adivasis, women, farmers, minorities, and the youth. He declared that any attempt to perpetrate injustice against these sections should be met with strong and unequivocal resistance from the Congress party.

The meeting also saw former MP V. Hanumanth Rao appeal to Rahul Gandhi to ensure that a party MP introduces a private member bill in the Lok Sabha seeking 42% reservation for Backward Classes (BCs), highlighting ongoing internal discussions on social justice policies.

This series of addresses marks a concerted effort by the Congress leadership, under Rahul Gandhi, to sharpen its political narrative against the ruling BJP ahead of crucial electoral battles, focusing on alleged international compromises and reaffirming its core social welfare ideology.
