Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut Calls for Transparent Probe Into Ajit Pawar's Fatal Plane Crash

In a significant development from Mumbai, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut has vocally demanded a comprehensive and transparent investigation into the tragic plane crash that claimed the life of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. Speaking on Thursday, Raut emphasized that mere expressions of sympathy cannot substitute for genuine accountability in this devastating incident.

Criticism of DGCA's Investigation Record

Raut launched a sharp critique against the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), accusing the regulatory body of consistently failing to bring aircraft crash investigations to a logical conclusion. He pointed out that while the DGCA has initiated numerous probes into air accidents over the years, very few reports have ever been made public or yielded actionable outcomes.

The MP stressed that the DGCA must reveal precisely what went wrong with Ajit Pawar's aircraft to prevent similar tragedies in the future. He questioned whether any substantial investigation was conducted into previous incidents, such as the Ahmedabad plane crash, highlighting a pattern of opacity.

"The technical glitch that occurred in the aircraft must be clearly identified. Merely paying tribute will not suffice. If the accident was due to technical reasons, it is essential to ascertain those reasons, and the truth must come before the public," Raut asserted.

Political Dig at BJP's Tribute Advertisements

Raut also took a pointed dig at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for publishing full-page advertisements and erecting banners across Maharashtra as tributes to Ajit Pawar. He sarcastically remarked, "BJP did a splendid job! They gave full-page ads as tributes to Dada!"

However, he argued that these gestures are hollow without substantive action. Raut declared that the real tribute to Ajit Pawar would be for the BJP, specifically Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, to withdraw the allegations of a Rs 70,000 crore scam made against him. This comment underscores the ongoing political tensions in Maharashtra.

Broader Concerns Over Aviation Safety

Beyond the immediate case, Raut raised serious concerns about the frequency of chartered aircraft accidents across India. He questioned whether technical lapses, radar failures, and shortcomings at airports are being adequately examined in such incidents.

"If technical glitches were responsible for the crash, merely offering condolences would serve no purpose. If the crash occurred due to technical issues, then identifying the root cause is essential. Only that can help prevent such incidents," he explained, emphasizing the need for clear answers to safeguard public safety.

Impact and Public Demand for Answers

The untimely death of Ajit Pawar has sent shockwaves not only through Maharashtra but across the entire nation. Raut echoed public sentiment by asking, "How can something like this happen? The answer to this must come before the people."

He insisted that the public deserves transparency and accountability to prevent future air tragedies, making a compelling case for overhauling investigation protocols in India's aviation sector.
