The Karnataka government spent a total of Rs 42.95 crore on the Mysuru Dasara 2025 celebrations, according to an official review. The amount was utilized for various activities including cultural programs, security arrangements, and infrastructure improvements.
Breakdown of Expenditure
The largest portion of the budget, approximately Rs 15 crore, was allocated for cultural events, including traditional performances, music concerts, and dance shows. Security arrangements accounted for Rs 8 crore, with additional funds spent on lighting, decorations, and sanitation.
Cultural Programs Highlighted
The Dasara festival featured a range of cultural activities, including the famous Jamboo Savari (elephant procession) and various exhibitions. The government emphasized the promotion of local art and culture through these events.
Infrastructure improvements, such as road repairs and beautification of public spaces, cost Rs 5 crore. The remaining funds were used for administrative expenses and emergency services.
Security and Safety Measures
To ensure the safety of attendees, the government deployed over 5,000 police personnel and installed CCTV cameras across key locations. Medical teams were also stationed at major venues.
The review highlighted that the expenditure was within the allocated budget, with no significant deviations. Officials noted that the festival attracted millions of visitors, boosting local tourism and commerce.
