Lucknow: On the occasion of International Worker's Day, the state government on Friday organized a 'Shramveer Gaurav Samaroh 2026' in which several workers were honored. The workers shared how government welfare schemes have transformed their lives through better housing, timely wages, and basic amenities.
Improved Living Conditions
A worker from Sitapur, Munnalal, shared that his family's living conditions had improved significantly in recent years. Recalling earlier hardships, he said his household once depended on kerosene lamps, but now has electricity, permanent housing, and LPG access under government welfare schemes. "Earlier, life was extremely difficult. Today, we have electricity, a home, and a gas connection. These changes have brought dignity to our lives," he said.
Financial Stability Through Timely Wages
Akash, a construction worker from Bareilly currently employed in Lucknow, said timely wage payments have improved his family's financial stability. "Regular payments have helped us manage our household better and reduced uncertainty," he said.
Women Workers Benefit
Women workers also credited welfare measures and improved labor protections for making their daily lives easier. They said access to facilities at work and assured payments had significantly improved their economic condition.
