Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on BJP leader Ram Madhav, claiming that his recent remarks in the United States have exposed the Narendra Modi government's dangerous priorities. Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru, Siddaramaiah said Madhav's comments abroad reveal the true agenda of the central government, which he described as detrimental to the nation's interests.
CM's allegations against BJP leader
Siddaramaiah asserted that Madhav's statements in the USA clearly indicate that the Modi government is more focused on divisive politics rather than addressing pressing issues like unemployment, inflation, and farmers' welfare. The chief minister accused the BJP of using foreign platforms to undermine democratic institutions and spread misinformation about India.
Political fallout expected
Political analysts believe that this controversy could escalate tensions between the Congress-led Karnataka government and the BJP central leadership. Siddaramaiah demanded a clarification from Prime Minister Modi on whether his government endorses Madhav's views. The BJP, however, has dismissed the allegations as baseless and politically motivated.
The development comes amid ongoing political battles in Karnataka, where the ruling Congress party has been critical of the Centre's policies on various fronts. Siddaramaiah's remarks are likely to intensify the war of words between the two parties in the run-up to future elections.
