Police have revealed a shocking twist in the Siya-Ketan murder case, alleging that the killing was premeditated to buy Siya three years of time. According to investigators, Siya did not want to marry Ketan but sought more time to pursue her own goals.
Murder Plot Uncovered
During interrogation, Siya reportedly confessed that she planned the murder to avoid marriage and gain three years of freedom. Police sources said she wanted to focus on her career and personal aspirations, and saw marriage as an obstacle.
The crime was meticulously planned, with Siya allegedly enlisting the help of a friend to execute the plot. Ketan was lured to a secluded location where he was attacked and killed.
Evidence Points to Premeditation
Forensic evidence, including digital footprints and witness statements, corroborates the police theory. Text messages between Siya and her accomplice discussed timelines and alibis weeks before the murder.
Police Commissioner Rajesh Kumar stated, "This was not a crime of passion but a cold-blooded, calculated act. Siya wanted to buy time, and she thought killing Ketan was the only way."
Siya's Motive: Time, Not Marriage
Contrary to initial reports that Siya was pressured into marriage, police now believe she was the one who wanted to delay or avoid it. "She repeatedly told friends she needed three more years to establish herself. Marriage would have derailed her plans," an officer said.
Investigators found that Siya had been researching ways to disappear or fake her own death before settling on murder.
Legal Proceedings
Siya has been charged with murder and conspiracy. Her accomplice is also in custody. The next hearing is scheduled for next week, where the prosecution will present more evidence.
The case has sparked debate about societal pressures on women regarding marriage. However, police emphasize that this does not justify murder.
