Chennai: Southern Railway has announced significant changes in the pattern of EMU and MEMU train services, including partial and full cancellations, from May 17 to June 19. This disruption is due to pre-non interlocking engineering works scheduled at Arakkonam Yard in the Central-Arakkonam section.
Impact on Train Services
Several train services between Tiruvalangadu and Arakkonam, as well as the reverse direction, will be affected. However, city commuters may largely remain unaffected, as only three trains originating from or terminating at Moore Market Complex will be fully cancelled in June.
Full Cancellations in June
A release issued by the Chennai Division stated that several MEMU services between Moore Market Complex and Tiruchanur, Vellore, and Arakkonam will be fully cancelled between June 6 and June 19. Additionally, a few services will be cancelled only on June 19.
May Cancellations
