Tamil Nadu CM Vijay Appoints Astrologer as OSD

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay has appointed astrologer Rickey Radhan Pandit Vettrivel as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Chief Minister (Political), according to an official government order issued on Monday.

The appointment was announced through Office Proceedings No. 675 dated May 12, 2026, issued by the Public (Estt. IV) Department of the Tamil Nadu government. The order stated that "Thiru Rickey Radhan Pandit Vettrivel is appointed as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Chief Minister (Political) with effect from the date of joining," adding that detailed terms and conditions would be issued separately.

The astrologer has reportedly been seen alongside the actor-turned-politician during key political and personal events in recent years. The development comes amid Vijay's efforts to strengthen his political and administrative setup after assuming office as chief minister. The post of OSD generally involves political coordination, liaison work, and handling assignments directly linked to the chief minister's office.

Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) Spokesperson, Radhan Pandit, said, "We are just ignoring these exit polls. I am sure we are going to sweep this election by above 170 or above 140. We studied very well. We had our personal survey. We are sure about a minimum 45% of vote-banking. It's not between 20-25 per cent... 108 hours to go for the election counting... 109th hour, we are going to take the oath. Our Vijay will become the Chief Minister extraordinarily..."
