Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) sold a record 1.26 crore laddus in June 2026, marking a 6% increase compared to the same period last year. The surge in sales reflects the growing influx of pilgrims to the hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala.
Enhanced Production Ensures Uninterrupted Supply
In response to the rising number of devotees, TTD significantly boosted laddu production and ensured a steady supply without any shortages, according to a press release. The organization streamlined its manufacturing processes and increased operational efficiency to meet the heightened demand.
The laddus, known as Srivari Laddu, are a sacred offering distributed free of cost to pilgrims after darshan. TTD operates one of the largest laddu production units in the world, capable of producing lakhs of laddus daily.
Record Sales Reflect Pilgrimage Boom
The 1.26 crore laddus sold in June 2026 represent the highest monthly sales figure ever recorded by TTD. This milestone underscores the consistent growth in pilgrimage to Tirumala, which attracts millions of devotees annually from across India and abroad.
TTD officials attributed the record to improved crowd management and enhanced facilities at the temple complex. The organization has invested in modernizing its kitchens and expanding storage capacity to handle larger volumes.
Impact on Devotees and Logistics
With the increased production, TTD has been able to distribute laddus without interruption even during peak pilgrimage seasons. Devotees have praised the seamless distribution system, which ensures that every pilgrim receives the prasadam without long waits.
The record sales also highlight the economic significance of the temple, as the laddu distribution is a key part of the spiritual experience. TTD continues to explore ways to further scale up production while maintaining the traditional recipe and quality.
