Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath asserted that despite centuries of invasions, no external force could ever break India's spiritual essence. Speaking at an event on Monday, he emphasised that Sanatan Dharma continues to thrive in the collective consciousness of the nation. The redevelopment and restoration of major pilgrimage centres, he noted, reflect the resurgence of India's civilisational pride.
Resurgence of Civilisational Pride
Adityanath highlighted that the ongoing efforts to renovate and beautify key pilgrimage sites are not merely infrastructural projects but a reaffirmation of India's ancient cultural heritage. He stated that these initiatives symbolise the nation's awakening to its glorious past and its determination to preserve traditions for future generations.
Historical Context
The Chief Minister remarked that invaders throughout history attempted to dismantle India's cultural and spiritual foundations, but they ultimately failed. "India's soul remained unshaken," he said, adding that Sanatan Dharma's resilience is a testament to the country's enduring identity. He called upon citizens to take pride in their heritage and work towards its preservation.
Development of Pilgrimage Sites
Adityanath detailed several projects underway across Uttar Pradesh, including the redevelopment of temples, ghats, and other religious landmarks. These efforts aim to provide better facilities for pilgrims while maintaining the sanctity and historical significance of the sites. The Chief Minister stressed that such developments contribute to both spiritual growth and economic progress through increased tourism.
He concluded by urging the youth to connect with their roots and understand the depth of India's civilisational legacy. "Our culture is our strength," he said, "and it is our duty to protect and promote it for generations to come."
