Lalitpur: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday launched a scathing attack on the Congress and the Samajwadi Party (SP), accusing them of neglecting Lalitpur despite ruling the state for five decades and four terms, respectively, as they were concerned only with their own families.
CM Inaugurates 221 Projects Worth Rs 1,766 Crore
After inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for 221 projects worth Rs 1,766 crore in Lalitpur, the chief minister said, “For SP, Saifai alone was its family, and for the Congress, the family in Delhi alone was the country. Neither could move beyond this. But for us, the 25 crore people of UP are our family, and it is our responsibility to provide them with development, security and respect.”
The CM alleged that the two parties patronised the mafia, which looted public money and indulged in illegal mining, illegal felling of forests and cattle smuggling. He added that the Opposition reduced UP to a BIMARU state, forcing the youth of Bundelkhand to migrate in search of opportunities.
Praise for Local Leaders and Stand Against Dynasty Politics
With months left before the next assembly polls, the CM, who has been touring various districts in recent days, praised local MLAs Mannu Kori and Ramratan Kushwaha, along with MP Anurag Sharma. Calling them honest, hardworking and dedicated to public service, he said, “We have told them to serve the people with hard work. Stand against dynasty politics, and the party will stand by you.”
The CM said Lalitpur suffered neglect under previous govts and remained deprived of roads, electricity, education, healthcare and development projects. Despite the availability of water, there were no irrigation facilities for farming or housing for the poor. “The lives of mothers and sisters passed carrying water in earthen pots. The region’s natural resources and forest wealth were looted, while a handful of people created chaos through illegal mining,” he said.
Key Initiatives: Cow Shelter, Medical College, Pharma Park
He also commended the district for establishing the state’s first cow shelter, a new medical college and an Atal Residential School. The CM announced that UP’s first Pharma Park would be developed in Lalitpur over 1,500 acres, creating employment opportunities for thousands of youths.
“Women here no longer have to carry pots on their heads because we have implemented a water supply scheme through which clean drinking water is reaching every household in Bundelkhand. We are also setting up UP’s largest industrial city along the Bundelkhand Expressway, and the region will be developed as a hub of the UP Defence Manufacturing Corridor,” he said.
Transformation Under PM Modi’s Vision
Crediting Prime Minister Narendra Modi for promoting the vision of a New India, the CM said Bundelkhand was undergoing a transformation under his leadership and was now being identified with employment opportunities, security and prosperity. He also highlighted the Balinee Milk Producer Corporation initiative, through which women’s self-help groups in Lalitpur and Jhansi were becoming economically independent.
Irrigation Projects and Youth Empowerment
Highlighting his govt’s achievements, the CM said long-pending irrigation projects such as the Arjun Sahayak Project were expedited. He added that projects including the Ratauli Dam, Bawani Dam, Kachnauda Dam and Chilli Irrigation Project transformed the lives of Bundelkhand’s farmers.
“We approved a medical college for Lalitpur, not for Gorakhpur, which is the CM’s constituency, or for the districts represented by the deputy CMs. Young entrepreneurs are being created through the CM Yuva programme. The govt is providing interest-free, collateral-free financial assistance. Start your business, repay the money over time, and both your enterprise and entrepreneurial journey will grow,” the CM said.
