The West Bengal government has taken a significant step towards overhauling administrative discipline by issuing a stern directive regarding office timings for all its employees. The order, released on Tuesday, mandates strict adherence to a 10:15 am start for the workday.
Strict Compliance Required
According to the official communique, all personnel are "positively" required to be present at their desks by 10:15 am. Furthermore, employees are prohibited from leaving the office premises before 5:15 pm. This directive applies to all government employees with immediate effect.
Reason Behind the Directive
The government cites the "smooth and efficient disposal of official work" as the primary reason for enforcing this rule. The move aims to ensure punctuality and maximize productivity across all government departments.
This directive is part of a broader effort to improve administrative efficiency and discipline within the state government. Employees are expected to comply fully, and any violations may lead to disciplinary action.
