Encounter in J&K's Rajouri During Anti-Terror Op

JAMMU: An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists on Saturday during a cordon and search operation launched in the Dorimal-Ghambir Mughla area of Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district, following reports of suspected movement, officials said.

Operation Sheruwali Underway

The operation, named 'Op Sheruwali', was ongoing until the last report was received, and reinforcements had been sent to the area, officials confirmed. A joint team comprising the Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched extensive searches in the general area of Gambhir Mughla after specific intelligence inputs were received about the presence of two to three suspected terrorists in the region.

Contact Established with Terrorists

During the operation, contact was established with the hiding terrorists around 11:30 am, the Army's White Knight Corps announced on X (formerly Twitter). "Troops responded swiftly with calibrated action," an Army spokesperson stated.
