In a major development in the Ghaziabad teen murder case, the prime accused was killed in a police encounter on Tuesday. The accused, identified as 22-year-old Ravi Kumar, was shot dead by the police while attempting to flee from custody during a re-enactment of the crime scene.
Details of the Encounter
The encounter took place in the Loni area of Ghaziabad district. According to police officials, the accused was being taken to the crime scene for investigation when he tried to snatch a constable's weapon and escape. In the ensuing scuffle, the police opened fire, killing him on the spot.

The teen murder case had sent shockwaves through the community. A 16-year-old girl was found dead under mysterious circumstances earlier this month. The post-mortem report confirmed that she was strangled. The family had alleged that the accused, a neighbor, had been harassing the victim for months.
The police had arrested Ravi Kumar a week ago based on evidence and witness statements. He was in judicial custody and was being produced in court when the incident occurred.
Police Statement
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ghaziabad, Dinesh Kumar, stated that the accused was a dangerous criminal and the police had to use force to prevent him from escaping. He added that a detailed investigation into the encounter is underway and all procedures were followed as per law.
