The agitation for water supply from the Bhakra pipeline at Chanot village in Haryana entered its 48th day on July 3, 2026, with the Boora Sirohi khap extending its support to the protest. Khap representatives emphasized that societal issues should be resolved through peaceful dialogue.
Protest Continues Despite Rain
Despite heavy rain, a significant number of villagers remained at the protest site. Dharna committee member Anoop Singh Chanot stated that talks with the Chief Minister and other ministers had been inconclusive, prompting villagers to intensify the agitation.
Next Phase of Agitation
As part of the next phase, memorandums will be submitted to Deputy Commissioners at all district headquarters on July 4. Chanot also revealed that panchayats from Data, Masudpur, Bhatla, Ghiray, and several other villages have visited the protest site to express solidarity.
