In compliance with directives from the Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) of Ludhiana recently organized a series of awareness seminars and oath-taking ceremonies aimed at combating drug abuse.

Focus on Drug Ill-Effects and Rehabilitation

During the seminars, participants received detailed information about the physical, mental, social, and economic consequences of drug addiction. The sessions also covered prevention strategies, treatment options, and rehabilitation processes.

Free Legal Aid Highlighted

Attendees were informed about the availability of free legal aid under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, ensuring that those affected by drug abuse can access legal support without financial burden.

Oath-Taking Ceremonies at Correctional Facilities

Inmates of Central Jail, Borstal Jail, Women’s Jail, and the Observation Home were administered a drug de-addiction oath. All participants pledged to stay away from drugs, educate their families and society about the harmful effects of substance abuse, and actively contribute to building a drug-free Punjab and India.
