In a late-evening enforcement drive, Panchkula SDM Chandrakant Kataria conducted surprise inspections of nightclubs, rooftop restaurants and commercial establishments across sectors 5, 8, 9, 10 and 11 on Monday, issuing a stern warning against noise violations and illegal encroachments.
Focus on Noise Compliance
The inspection focused on loud music at rooftop venues and nightlife spots, along with compliance with operational norms. During the drive, the SDM directed owners of nightclubs and rooftop restaurants to strictly adhere to prescribed sound limits and maintain timings fixed by the administration for such activities.
Kataria emphasised that music from rooftop venues should not disturb nearby residential areas. Residents should not face inconvenience due to late-night activities or excessive noise, he said, warning that strict action would be taken against violators.
Monitoring and Enforcement
He also instructed the police department to regularly monitor hotels and nightclubs and submit compliance reports to the Deputy Commissioner's office. This move aims to ensure that all establishments follow the rules and do not cause disturbance to the public.
The SDM's surprise inspection underscores the administration's commitment to maintaining law and order, especially in areas prone to noise pollution. Residents have welcomed the action, hoping it will bring relief from late-night disturbances.
