Raipur Police Inspects Highway Dhabas, Hotels for Road Safety Compliance
Raipur: Dhabas, hotels, and other commercial establishments along the Raipur-Bilaspur National Highway have been directed to adhere to road safety norms, including switching off glaring lights and preventing roadside parking of heavy vehicles, during a surprise police inspection drive.
Acting on the instructions of Raipur Rural Superintendent of Police Shweta Shrivastava Sinha, Dharsiwa police and the Siltara police outpost inspected establishments along the highway. They instructed operators to follow Supreme Court guidelines on road safety and traffic management. Owners were told to ensure that lighting from their premises does not distract motorists or increase the risk of accidents.
Police also warned that the sale or consumption of liquor without legal authorization is prohibited and would attract action under the Excise Act. Operators were asked to immediately report suspicious activity or illegal trade to the nearest police station or Dial-112.
Officials stated that the inspections are part of an ongoing drive to improve road safety, maintain law and order, and ensure safer travel along the busy highway.
