Prayagraj: Three persons, including a couple, were killed and another suffered injuries when a car carrying them was hit by a speeding minibus near Bhiski village in the trans-Ganga pocket of the district on Friday afternoon, police said.
Victims Identified
The deceased were identified as Rakesh, 58, his wife Prabhawati, 56, and Shubham, 27, all residents of Bhadohi. The injured person, whose identity has not been disclosed, is undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
Accident Details
According to police, the incident occurred when the car, carrying four persons including three family members, was en route to Jhunsi from Bhadohi. A minibus coming from the opposite direction struck the car, leaving all occupants injured. The impact was so severe that the car plunged into a nearby gorge.
Villagers rushed to the scene and helped police transport the injured to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared three of them dead upon arrival. The bodies have been sent for postmortem examination.
Authorities have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances leading to the collision. The minibus driver fled the scene after the accident, and efforts are underway to apprehend him.
