An 18-month-old girl tragically lost her life after accidentally drowning in a bucket filled with water at her residence in Madhya Pradesh's Maihar district on Tuesday. The heartbreaking incident occurred in the Ramnagar area of the district.
The deceased has been identified as Kavya Kol, the youngest daughter of Sanjay Kol, a resident of the ITI area. According to police reports, the toddler was playing at home in the morning when she apparently lost her balance and fell into a bucket containing water.
At the time of the incident, Kavya's mother had left for work around 8 am. The child's two elder sisters were also away from the house for some time to fetch water. The mother returned home approximately three hours later, only to find the toddler submerged in the bucket.
Family members immediately pulled the child out and rushed her to a nearby hospital. However, doctors examined her and declared her dead upon arrival. Following the incident, Ramnagar police reached the spot and registered a case of unnatural death.
Authorities have initiated an investigation into the matter. Further details are awaited as the probe continues. This tragic event underscores the importance of constant supervision of young children, especially around water hazards at home.
