AAP Defends Punjab's Law and Order Situation

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) made a strong statement on Monday regarding law and order in Punjab. The party asserted that the situation remains firmly under control. They issued a clear warning to anyone considering taking the law into their own hands. Such individuals will not be spared under any circumstances, the party emphasized.

Recent Arrests Highlight Police Efficiency

AAP state media in-charge Baltej Pannu provided details of recent police actions to support the party's claim. In the high-profile sarpanch murder case, Punjab Police demonstrated remarkable coordination. Officers tracked CCTV footage across a distance of nearly 110 kilometers. They chased the accused across state borders. With crucial assistance from Chhattisgarh Police, both shooters were successfully arrested. Furthermore, the individual who provided shelter to the accused was also taken into custody. The shooters are now being brought back to Punjab for legal proceedings.

Pannu cited additional examples of effective policing. In Ludhiana's Haibowal area, two gangsters associated with the notorious Godara gang opened fire on police personnel. These individuals were arrested following an encounter with the authorities. Similarly, in the Mohali firing case involving sports promoter Rana Balachauria, both shooters were apprehended. They were arrested from Kolkata, West Bengal, showcasing the wide reach of the police operation.

Zero-Tolerance Policy Against Violence

Baltej Pannu directly addressed criticism from opposition leaders. He stated that some leaders persistently raise questions about law and order. However, the AAP government follows a strict zero-tolerance policy. The government's stance is unequivocal. Any person who fires bullets or commits acts of violence will not be dealt with softly. They will be answered in the same language, Pannu declared.

Responding specifically to queries about the anti-gangster task force, Pannu highlighted its effectiveness. He pointed out that it was precisely this specialized task force that executed the arrests across different states. The Punjab Police has been significantly strengthened under the current administration. Officers have been given a free hand to act against criminals. A clear directive has been issued: no criminal will be spared, Pannu concluded.
