Bathinda: Activists of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) held protests against the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) at various places in Punjab on Saturday, accusing the latter of defaming Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann over a video. The AAP functionaries accused SAD of hatching conspiracies against Mann.
Defense of Chief Minister
During the event, AAP MLAs came out in defense of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, accusing SAD of using a religious card to regain lost political ground. Sikh MLAs Labh Singh Ugoke and Kulwant Singh Pandori in Barnala, Gurpreet Singh Banawali in Mansa, Sukhbir Singh Maiserkhana in Maur, Amritpal Singh Sukhanand in Moga, and Hardeep Singh Dimpy Dhillon in Gidderbaha led the protests against the SAD.
Protests Across Punjab
Protests were also staged outside the office of Bathinda MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal in Bathinda. The demonstrations underscore the escalating political tension between AAP and SAD in the state.
