AIADMK United After Internal Differences Resolved

COIMBATORE: Former AIADMK minister S P Velumani on Thursday said the party leadership is united and the recent internal differences have been resolved. Velumani said he and senior leader C Ve Shanmugam met AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS), raised their concerns and received assurances.

“We placed certain demands before EPS, and he agreed to fulfil them. This helped restore normalcy in the party,” Velumani told reporters at Coimbatore International Airport.

He said that the party would continue to function in unity and review the reasons for its defeat in the assembly election. He said AIADMK would hold discussions to rebuild its strategy and work towards returning to power in Tamil Nadu.

Velumani denied reports that AIADMK supported TVK government to get ministerial posts. He said the party “remains united like brothers” and noted that AIADMK had governed for more than three decades while TVK is new to power and should be given time.
