Patna police operate with complete independence, free from any political influence, according to Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary. He made this statement on Monday while addressing an event celebrating Swami Vivekananda's Jayanti.
Police Autonomy Strengthens System
Choudhary emphasized that police systems fail when external interference occurs. He confirmed that officers in Bihar now enjoy full autonomy to perform their duties. The state government continues to strengthen this framework further.
Youth Inspiration from Swami Vivekananda
Governor Arif Mohammed Khan also spoke at the event. He urged the country's youth to draw inspiration from Swami Vivekananda's teachings. Khan highlighted Vivekananda's belief that life's ultimate goal involves pursuing knowledge. This knowledge should help people recognize unity within diversity.
Bihar's Demographic Advantage
Deputy CM Choudhary pointed out that half of Bihar's population is under 45 years old. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for the state's significant progress.
Choudhary noted that Swami Vivekananda, whose childhood name was also Narendra, predicted India's resurgence as a global leader in the 21st century.
Historical Legacy and Future Goals
The deputy chief minister proudly mentioned Bihar's glorious history. He recalled how the Magadh empire established a golden age for the country. Bihar's youth have consistently supported India through various eras.
Choudhary referenced Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan's call for total revolution. He also celebrated the revival of Nalanda, Bihar's pride. The next target involves Vikramshila University, with construction set to begin soon.
Economic Transformation of Bihar
Discussing economic development, Choudhary shared remarkable budget growth. When he first entered the assembly, Bihar's budget stood at only Rs 6,000 crore. At that time, 87% of state income came from areas now part of Jharkhand.
Under the leadership of PM Modi and CM Nitish Kumar, the budget has soared beyond Rs 3.17 lakh crore. Choudhary described this achievement as historic.
Employment Initiatives and Skill Development
The government remains committed to creating employment opportunities. Over the past five years, more than 50 lakh people have received jobs. The target aims to provide employment to one crore youth in the next five years.
A youth skill development department has been established. This initiative ensures Bihar's youth become skilled and self-reliant. They will no longer need to migrate out of compulsion.
