BJP Brothers File Nominations for Dhanbad Civic Polls, Pledge to End Corruption

In a significant political development in Dhanbad, two brothers and senior BJP workers officially filed their nominations for the upcoming municipal body elections on Wednesday. This move marks a notable entry into local politics for the Pandey family, who have long been active in social and political circles in the region.

Nominations Filed for Key Positions

Jawahar Pandey, aged 56 and a former state executive member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has filed his papers for the position of ward councillor. Meanwhile, his younger brother Mukesh Pandey, 47, who previously served as the district president of the BJP Yuva Morcha, has nominated himself for the mayoral post. Their simultaneous candidacies highlight a coordinated effort to bring about change in Dhanbad's civic administration.

Addressing Civic Issues and Corruption

During the nomination process, Jawahar Pandey highlighted the severe hardships faced by residents, particularly those living on JC Mallik Road at Hirapur. He emphasized that critical issues such as sanitation, drainage, and basic civic amenities have been consistently neglected. "Be it sanitation, drainage, or basic civic amenities, work does not get done. Corruption is rampant in the system," he stated, underscoring the urgent need for reform.

Mukesh Pandey echoed these concerns, citing his family's longstanding commitment to community service through cleanliness drives. "Every morning, the male members of our family step out to clean the neighbourhood. If elected, we want to clean the system as well. Ending corruption and irregularities will be our top priority," he asserted, linking personal dedication to broader political goals.

Community Support and Future Plans

The nominations have been welcomed by local residents, with area resident Vivek Sinha expressing strong support for the Pandey brothers. "The Pandey family has always been at the forefront during crises, whether related to electricity, water supply, or cleanliness. Their involvement in the elections gives us hope for better governance," he remarked, reflecting a positive public sentiment.

As the election campaign gains momentum, the Pandey brothers have outlined their key objectives:

  • Eradicating corruption and ensuring transparency in municipal operations.
  • Improving sanitation, drainage, and other essential civic amenities.
  • Enhancing public participation in local governance and decision-making processes.

With their deep-rooted connections to the community and a clear agenda for change, Jawahar and Mukesh Pandey are poised to make a significant impact in the Dhanbad municipal elections, aiming to transform the city's civic landscape.
