Jharkhand leader Champai Soren launched a scathing attack on the Congress party, accusing it of being historically anti-tribal and responsible for the plight of Adivasis in the country. Speaking at a gathering organized by the 'Janjati Suraksha Manch', Soren asserted that the Congress party has consistently failed to address the needs and rights of tribal communities.
Event Draws Tribals from Across India
The event, which saw participation from tribal representatives from various states, was aimed at highlighting the alleged neglect and exploitation of Adivasis under Congress rule. Soren, a prominent tribal leader, emphasized that the Congress party's policies have only worsened the condition of indigenous communities.
Historical Grievances Highlighted
Soren pointed to several instances from history where Congress governments allegedly marginalized tribal populations. He accused the party of not implementing key provisions for tribal welfare and of failing to protect their land and forest rights. The leader called for a united front among tribals to counter what he described as 'Congress's anti-tribal agenda'.
The 'Janjati Suraksha Manch' has been vocal about issues such as displacement due to mining, lack of access to education and healthcare, and inadequate political representation for tribals. The event served as a platform to mobilize support and raise awareness about these concerns.
Soren's remarks come amid ongoing political debates over tribal welfare and the role of national parties in addressing the needs of marginalized communities. The Congress party has yet to officially respond to the allegations.
