Congress Leader Aradhana Mishra Mona Launches Scathing Attack on Yogi Government
Congress Legislative Party leader Aradhana Mishra Mona on Monday launched a sharp and comprehensive attack on the Yogi Adityanath government, delivering a blistering critique of the governor's address to the Uttar Pradesh Assembly. She described the official address as nothing more than a 'bundle of lies and false promises' and claimed that even the governor appeared unable to repeatedly defend the BJP's numerous claims and assertions.
Selective Reading Reflects Government Discomfort
Reacting specifically to the governor's delivery, Mishra pointed out the significant fact that the governor read only select portions of the extensive 55-page document and did not deliver the address in its entirety. She stated that this selective reading clearly reflected a deep discomfort with what she termed the government's 'anti-people policies and relentless propaganda.' 'There was absolutely nothing new or substantial in this address,' Mishra declared. 'For the last ten years, we have witnessed the same old works being cleverly repackaged with new branding and marketing, a tactic that the public is now well aware of and thoroughly tired of,' she added emphatically.
Allegations on Law and Order and Corruption
Targeting the government's frequent claims regarding improved law and order, the senior Congress leader alleged that crime has actually increased across the state. She further accused the administration of taking action selectively, based primarily on caste and religious considerations, rather than upholding uniform justice. Mishra also launched a direct accusation against the government for presiding over what she described as a sharp and alarming rise in corruption, claiming it had increased 'ten-fold' under the current regime. She highlighted the critical issue of lakhs of posts remaining vacant within the police department, even as the government continues to project a strong and effective law-and-order image to the public.
Criticism on Employment and Healthcare
On the crucial front of employment, Mishra stated that the future of the state's youth was being dangerously 'played with' through excessive outsourcing, despite the clear availability of regular government jobs. 'Instead of conducting permanent recruitment and providing job security, young people are being systematically pushed into insecure and unstable contractual arrangements,' she alleged. Regarding healthcare, a subject referred to across several pages of the governor's address, Mishra questioned the government's claims. She noted that while the BJP had promised medical colleges in every district, many buildings remain incomplete and hospitals are grappling with severe shortages of doctors, paramedical staff, and essential medicines.
Agriculture and Broader Protests
On agriculture, another key sector, Mishra said the address offered farmers nothing new or hopeful. She alleged that farmers frequently do not receive vital fertilizers like urea and DAP on time and that some have even lost their lives while standing in endless queues. She also criticized the Centre's trade policy with the United States, calling it detrimental and harmful to Indian farmers' interests. Earlier in the day, Congress leaders, alongside their INDIA bloc partners, staged a significant protest at the Assembly premises near Chaudhary Charan Singh's statue. The protest was organized against multiple issues, including rampant unemployment, persistent inflation, deteriorating health services, and alleged manipulation in the SIR process aimed at cutting voters' names from electoral rolls.
