Congress MLA Batra demands better BLO training for SIR-2026

Congress MLA Bharat Bhushan Batra calls for improved BLO training during SIR-2026

Rohtak Congress MLA Bharat Bhushan Batra has urged the state government to provide proper training and clear guidelines to Booth Level Officers (BLOs) during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 of electoral rolls. Batra emphasized that BLOs must carefully examine each form to ensure the integrity of the voter list.

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Batra appealed to all eligible voters to fill the enumeration form, stating that the revision aims to prevent genuine voters from being removed and to avoid adding ineligible names. He stressed that the process must be conducted with transparency and accuracy, adding: “The genuine vote should not be deleted, and the fake vote should not be added.”

Training camps organized for Congress workers

Batra noted that three training camps have already been organized for Congress BLA-2 workers of the Rohtak Assembly constituency. Workers were instructed to ensure the process is completed carefully and without errors. He also called upon Congress workers to verify that forms are properly checked and that no voter faces inconvenience.

The MLA highlighted that voting is a constitutional right, and it is the duty of both voters and election authorities to ensure no eligible person is deprived of this right. While acknowledging that the SIR process may appear complicated, Batra urged the Election Commission and administration to provide all possible assistance to voters.

Concerns over inadequate publicity and BLO training

Batra alleged that the Election Commission has not carried out adequate publicity about the SIR-2026 exercise. He remarked: “People should have been informed well in advance about the importance of filling the form. The previous Special Intensive Revision was conducted in 2002, which is being taken as the basis for the current process.”

He also raised concerns about the training of BLOs, warning that inadequate knowledge could lead to mistakes in forms. Batra urged officials to ensure that forms are properly checked before being uploaded.
