Punjab Congress President Condemns Sirhind Railway Blast, Slams AAP Government
Punjab Congress president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring on Saturday strongly condemned the blast on the railway track near Sirhind that occurred on Friday night. He asserted that this incident represents a clear failure of the Aam Aadmi Party government and the state police, highlighting what he described as a complete collapse of law and order in Punjab.
Warning of Ominous Signs for Punjab
This is an ominous sign and does not portend well for Punjab, Warring warned, expressing grave concerns about the state's security situation. Reacting to the late Friday night explosion, the Ludhiana MP stated that the Congress party has continuously cautioned the AAP government about the growing threats to peace and law and order in Punjab.
He elaborated that people of the state are already living in an atmosphere of fear—fear of gangsters, and now, there is the terror of blasts that brings back the harsh memories of the dark era in Punjab. Warring emphasized that the use of RDX in the blast suggests that those responsible are planning something significant and dangerous, indicating a serious security lapse.
Congress Claims Proven Record in Safeguarding Punjab
Warring noted that only the Congress party possesses the capability to protect the lives and property of Punjab's residents, citing its established track record in governance. I assure everyone on behalf of my party that we will not let anyone push Punjab into the dark era once again, he declared, while criticizing the AAP government as not competent enough to handle such responsibilities.
The Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee chief alleged that the AAP government's primary focus has never been on ensuring peace and law and order in Punjab. Instead, he claimed their priority is solely on publicity, which he labeled as their only means of survival. Warring pointed out that the random arrests made during the anti-gangster drive have yielded no substantial results on the ground.
Blast Exposes Government Claims as Ineffective
No matter how many arrests you claim to have made, your claims were literally blasted in Sirhind on Friday night, Warring told the government, asserting its complete failure. He predicted that the Sirhind blast would serve as the proverbial last straw on the AAP's back, leading to its inevitable collapse.
Warring highlighted the irony that the explosion occurred precisely when the AAP government was boasting about extensive on-field operations against gangsters. This means police and intelligence personnel were on the ground, and still a blast took place, he remarked, underscoring the government's inefficiency.
He further warned that while gangsters previously had no fear of the law, anti-national elements now seem emboldened to join the fray, perceiving the AAP government in Punjab as too incompetent, inefficient, weak, and spineless to take decisive action. This situation, according to Warring, poses a severe threat to the state's stability and security.
