The Cyberabad police on Monday rejected the proposed meeting of the Jana Sena Party at a private convention centre in Gachibowli. In a letter denying permission for the 'Jana Sena Sadhaks' event, the police cited the recent controversy involving former Telangana MLC Professor K Nageshwar and the Jana Sena as one of the primary reasons for the rejection.
Reasons for Rejection
The police order stated: 'The recent alleged remarks by Prof K Nageshwar on the meeting of Andhra Pradesh's deputy chief minister and the Union home minister, and the subsequent registration of a criminal case against Nageshwar in Andhra Pradesh, have led to escalating tensions and animosities across Telangana. Recent public utterances made by certain political leaders from Andhra Pradesh, including those from the Jana Sena, regarding the matter involving Nageshwar have deeply hurt the sentiments of the people of Telangana. This has triggered widespread backlash, counter-protests, and strong opposition from various student bodies and activist groups in the state.'
Additional Grounds
Apart from the tensions, the police also cited the lack of a designated parking place at the private convention centre as another reason for rejecting the permission. Earlier, the general secretary of 'Jana Sena Sadhaks' had approached the police seeking permission for a gathering of 2,000 party workers.
