Dal Khalsa Marks 42 Years of Operation Blue Star

Amritsar: The Sikh body Dal Khalsa has announced a two-day event to commemorate the 42nd anniversary of Operation Blue Star, the Indian Army operation to flush out militants from the Golden Temple complex. Kanwar Pal Singh, the party's secretary for political affairs, told media on Saturday that the party has called for an Amritsar bandh on June 6. He clarified that the bandh call applies only to the shutdown of business, commercial, and educational institutions, and there will be no stoppage of transportation.

Holocaust Remembrance Parade

Singh also stated that a holocaust remembrance parade will be held in the city on the evening of June 5, starting from Burj Akali Phoola Singh. The events are intended to honor the memory of those who lost their lives during the operation.
