Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal and Union Minister Anurag Thakur exercised their franchise at the Sameerpur polling station on Monday. The father-son duo arrived at the venue early in the morning to cast their votes in the ongoing assembly elections.

Dhumal Encourages Voter Turnout

Speaking to the media after casting his vote, Dhumal emphasized the importance of every citizen's participation in the democratic process. He urged the people of Himachal Pradesh to come out in large numbers and vote for the candidate of their choice. Dhumal expressed confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party would form the next government in the state.

Anurag Thakur's Appeal

Union Minister Anurag Thakur, who is also the MP from Hamirpur, echoed similar sentiments. He highlighted the developmental works carried out by the BJP government at the center and state levels and appealed to the voters to support the party for continued progress. Thakur also took a dig at the opposition, accusing them of spreading false narratives.

The Sameerpur polling station witnessed a steady stream of voters throughout the day. Security arrangements were tight, with adequate police personnel deployed to ensure a smooth voting process. The election is being held in a single phase across all 68 assembly constituencies in Himachal Pradesh.

Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the arrangements made by the Election Commission and thanked the officials for their efforts in conducting the polls peacefully. They also urged the youth to actively participate in shaping the future of the state through their votes.
