An FIR has been registered against nine named individuals, including former MLA and Samajwadi Party district president Manoj Singh Dablu, along with 250 unidentified workers, for allegedly pushing policemen while attempting to enter the collectorate campus in Chandauli district. The incident occurred during a protest organized by the Samajwadi Party near Vikas Bhawan on Friday.

Protest Turns Clash

The Samajwadi Party held a demonstration in support of six-point demands, including addressing the power crisis, lack of water in canals, alleged corrupt practices in government departments, and problems faced by farmers. Participants staged a sit-in near Vikas Bhawan and addressed a public meeting. Later, they moved towards the district magistrate's office inside the collectorate to submit a memorandum. When police attempted to stop them, an argument ensued, and protesters pushed the officers.

Chandauli police station in charge B K Pandey confirmed that the FIR was lodged under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including 191(2) (rioting), 191(3) (rioting armed with deadly weapons), 189(1) (unlawful assembly), 223 (disobedience to orders duly promulgated by a public servant), 121(1) (voluntarily causing hurt), 132 (criminal force), 3(5) (common intention), 352 (intentional insult), and 351(2) (criminal intimidation), along with the 7CLA Act.

Named Accused

Apart from Dablu, the FIR names Naveen Singh, party district president Satyanarayan Rajbhar, former MLA candidate Chandrashekhar Yadav, district panchayat member Anjani Singh, SP national spokesperson Manoj Singh Kaka, former chairman Musafir Singh Chauhan, OBC unit district president V K Bind, and SP district general secretary Nafees Ahmad. Additionally, 250 unidentified persons have been booked.

The Samajwadi Party members had gathered to protest against the power crisis, lack of water in canals, alleged corruption in government departments, and the difficulties faced by farmers. The demonstration escalated when they attempted to enter the collectorate, leading to the confrontation with police.
