Goa minister calls CM a magician, says 22,000 jobs to be filled

Panaji: Health minister Vishwajit Rane on Friday called chief minister Pramod Sawant a “magician” and expressed confidence that he will fill 22,000 government vacancies before the next assembly elections.

“I have full assurance my CM will fill these vacancies for the benefit of youths,” Rane told reporters.

“There is a craze of govt jobs in Goa. Youths from the 40 assemblies are seeking these jobs. Only BJP can fill these vacancies; no other party can,” he said, adding, “Our CM is a magician and will get it done.”

“I’m confident CM will fill up these 22,000 jobs before the elections. This is the aspiration of people. The CM and I are seniors in the party, and sometimes we have to voice out the aspirations of our youths. The next govt will also be a BJP govt,” he said.

Rane also claimed that he is paying salaries of several contractual workers from his own pocket, as the government is yet to clear the file pertaining to their salaries. He said he decided to do so because he personally invited them to join the work and did not want them to suffer due to delays.
