Haryana BJP's Core Group Meets in Delhi, Strategises for Civic Polls & Counter Opposition
Haryana BJP Core Group Meets, Plans for Civic Polls

In a significant political move ahead of crucial urban local body elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Haryana core group convened for an extensive meeting in the national capital on Saturday. The marathon session focused on crafting a robust strategy for the upcoming civic polls in seven urban bodies, including the municipal corporations of Panchkula, Sonipat, and Ambala.

High-Level Deliberations on Poll Strategy and Governance

The high-powered meeting, attended by the party's top brass from the state, saw detailed discussions on the prevailing political scenario. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini presented his perspective on this year's budget and elaborated on campaigns he has initiated to counter what he termed as "misleading propaganda" by the Congress and other opposition parties.

The gathering included prominent figures such as Union ministers Manohar Lal Khattar and Krishan Pal Gurjar, state BJP president Mohan Lal Badoli, state in-charge Dr. Satish Poonia, organisation minister Phanindranath, Rajya Sabha MP Subhash Barala, and cabinet ministers Krishan Bedi and Vipul Goel.

Beyond election preparations, the leaders also reviewed the framework and tour programme for the new BJP working president's scheduled visit to Gurugram. The core group strategised counter-attacks against narratives pushed by the Congress and the opposition concerning the Satellite Industrial Region (SIR) and the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA).

Roadmap for Civic Polls and Party Programmes

Addressing the media after the conclave, State BJP President Mohan Lal Badoli provided insights into the party's preparations. He confirmed that BLA-1 appointments had been completed in Haryana and the process for BLA-2 was currently ongoing. Regarding the imminent civic polls, Badoli stated that broad guidelines for selecting candidates for mayoral and councillor positions have been established. The final groundwork will commence after the official notification of wards is issued.

Badoli highlighted that several ongoing party programmes were reviewed during the meeting. These initiatives include:

  • VB Jiramji Jagran Abhiyan
  • Atal Smriti Varsh in memory of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee
  • Campaigns to disseminate Home Minister Amit Shah's speeches on SIR
  • Atmanirbhar Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan
  • Programmes focused on NextGen GST Reform

He noted that party workers had shown tremendous enthusiasm in these campaigns, which helped in exposing what the BJP claims are falsehoods spread by opposition parties across the state. According to Badoli, the consistent service work of BJP karyakartas has elevated the party's respect among the people of Haryana.

Khattar's Sharp Rebuke to the Congress

Speaking to reporters, Union Minister and former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar launched a scathing attack on the Congress party. He accused the principal opposition of "shooting arrows in the dark" and asserted that their only work is to spread lies. Khattar explained that such core group meetings are held periodically to discuss governmental and organisational matters in detail.

He revealed that this meeting involved discussions on approximately twelve key topics, underscoring the comprehensive nature of the deliberations aimed at strengthening the party's position and governance in Haryana.
