Haryana Chief Minister Chairs High-Level Budget and Schemes Review Meeting

In a significant administrative move, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini presided over a comprehensive high-level review meeting on Tuesday in Chandigarh. The session focused on scrutinizing the budget expenditures of various state departments and evaluating the progress of key departmental schemes. Senior administrative officials from the concerned departments were in attendance to provide updates and receive directives.

Accelerating Solar Energy Initiatives Across the State

During the review of the energy department's schemes, Chief Minister Saini issued clear instructions to officials to expedite the solarisation of agriculture pumps throughout Haryana. He underscored the critical importance of implementing the PM-KUSUM scheme within strict timelines to ensure that a maximum number of farmers can reap its benefits. The CM emphasized that any surplus power generated through these solar pumps should be efficiently fed back into the government grid, promoting optimal and judicious utilization for broader public welfare.

Furthermore, Saini directed officials to fast-track the installation of rooftop solar systems on all government buildings in the state. He specifically mentioned that bus stands, HAFED godowns, and other government-owned infrastructure should also be equipped with rooftop solar panels. The Chief Minister highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has placed special emphasis on expanding renewable energy production through rooftop solar installations under the PM Suryaghar Muft Bijli Yojana.

Officials informed the meeting that surveys of 5,000 government buildings have already been completed, and the process of installing rooftop solar panels is currently underway. To ensure swift implementation, Saini instructed all district deputy commissioners to actively monitor and accelerate the progress of this scheme.

Enhancing Transport Infrastructure and Promoting Eco-Friendly Mobility

While reviewing the transport department's schemes, the Chief Minister directed officials to identify bus stands in poor condition and ensure their timely repair and maintenance. He was briefed that bus stands at Kanina, Barwala, Tohana, and Nigdhu are nearing completion, while construction work is actively progressing at Badli, Nilokheri, Bahal, and other locations.

Saini also stressed the urgent need to expand electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across Haryana and increase the number of electric buses in the public transport fleet. This initiative aims to promote eco-friendly public transportation and significantly reduce carbon emissions, aligning with broader environmental goals.

Boosting Small Industries and Strengthening Environmental Conservation

During the review of the industries department's schemes, Chief Minister Saini directed officials to provide enhanced incentives to small industries and MSMEs. He emphasized the necessity of framing policies that encourage entrepreneurship, particularly among women and economically weaker sections of society, to foster inclusive economic growth.

In discussions concerning the environment, forests, and wildlife department, Saini issued strict directives to take firm action against the illegal felling of 'khair' trees. He instructed the department to implement proactive measures to prevent deforestation, increase green cover, and ensure proper marking of trees across the state. Additionally, the Chief Minister highlighted the need for focused conservation efforts in the ecologically sensitive Aravali region to preserve its natural heritage.

This comprehensive review meeting underscores the Haryana government's commitment to efficient budget utilization, sustainable development, and holistic progress across key sectors, from energy and transport to industry and environment.
