In a landmark move aimed at enhancing public safety, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced on Tuesday that the state government will formulate a comprehensive 'Swing Safety Policy'. This initiative marks the first policy of its kind in India, specifically designed to ensure the complete safety of swings and other entertainment equipment across the state.

He referenced the recent swing collapse incident at Surajkund, describing it as an unfortunate event that the administration is taking very seriously. To avert such tragedies, the government plans to implement solid and effective measures through this new policy.
Immediate Actions and Support for Victims
In response to the Surajkund accident, the Haryana government has already taken swift action. Two individuals associated with the vendor operating the swing have been arrested. All injured persons are receiving medical treatment, with the state government covering the entire cost of their care. Additionally, each seriously injured victim will be provided financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh to aid in their recovery.
Condolences and Compensation for Deceased Inspector
Expressing deep condolences for Inspector Jagdish, who lost his life in the accident, Chief Minister Saini announced that one family member of the deceased policeman will be offered a government job.
